A portrait of Sarah is recorded hanging in Alston Court, Nayland in 19th Cent, it was gifted in 2003 by E N A Hadwen (nee Fenn) to Christchurch Mansion Ipswich with the other paintings of the family by Coyte. It is inscribed on the back "Sarah Sudell (nee Alston ) wife of William Suddell of Wivenhoe in the co of Essex, Mariner, & daughter of Sam Alston of Edwardstone, Maltster. Aged 27 yrs Beeston Coyte 1753" sighted by EL Fenn 2001.
Benefited under her fathers Will 150 pds.
Marriage was by licence issued, 11 Nov 1745, William Suddell of Wivenhoe ESS mariner & Sarah Alston of Edwardstone single woman of Edwardstone. At Edwardstone Groton or Boxford. Bondsmen were Samuel Alston Snr and Jnr Maltster and Attorney at Law.
