Lancashire Fusiliers, 1918 - 1921 Medical Certificate Nigeria 8 Jul 1916; had served 13 months residential service; now leaving Lagos 15 Jul 1916 with dysentery and impaired health; instructed to avoid chills and live quietly on the voyage back to England; noted Cecil had served in the Cameroons until being categorised 100% disabled. Major C.A. Vanderzee, late of the Manchester Regiment (retired), has been gazetted Major in the 7th Lancashire Fusiliers. He is a son of the late Major-General Vanderzee, of Woodbury Park, Tunbridge Wells, and a brother-in-law of Mr R V Gower. Kent and Sussex Courier Friday, 20 November 1914.
