Elizabeth LYON [24258]

James Holme in 2018 remembers a family story about Elizabeth.
My great grandfather was vicar at Crewkerne, Somerset, his wife was Elizabeth Lyon. My mother told me that my grandmother Ella, who my mother thought was a bit of a snob¹, claimed there was some connection to the Bowes-Lyon family of the past Queen Mother. I do have a rather plain brooch, past down to me, that is the Bowes-Lyon crest, so there may be a grain of truth in the story.

Elizabeth married Rev Robert HOLME [24257] [MRIN: 8736], son of Rev Thomas Redmayne HOLME [27071] and Jane [27072]. (Rev Robert HOLME [24257] was born in 1828 in Kirby Ravensworth YKS and died on 13 Dec 1893 in Crewkerne SOM.)
