Albert attended Aberdeen Grammar School 1883-1894; Aberdeen and Edinburgh Universities; Edinburgh Theological College 1895-1898. Ordained in 1899 and appointed deacon of St.Pauls, Dundee and in the same year as priest, St.John's, Forfar. In 1899 appointed as priest St. Mirians Cathedral, Perth. Curate in Forfar, Sussex and Perth. Stipendiary Curate of Slaugham, Sussex for three years from 1901. Testimonial from the then Prime Minister (Henry Campbell Bannerman) assisted in his being offered the stipend of Wrockwardine in 1906 and surrogate of the diocese of Lichfield 1907.
Vicar of Wrockwardine (Shropshire) for 39 years from 1906.
Volunteer in the Aberdeen Artillery Corps from 1892 to 1894.
Life Manager of the Royal Aberdeen Infirmiary and the Royal Asylum from 17 Mar 1897
Member of Wellington (now Telford) Rural District Council for 27 years and Chairman for 10. Magistrate. Member of over 24 committees and associations. Civil defense and War Committees. Responsible for a housing development of 1000 houses started in 1938 and completed during the war (unheard of and acknowledged in US newspapers !) Several streets and the Community Hall were named after him.
Retired August 1945 and died 4 years later.

The minister at Albert & Ida's wedding was his brother Rev Francis William Campbell Turreff, rector of All Saints Fyvie. Witness's were Anna Hand, John St Vincent Hand, Lady Henrietta Munro, wife of Sir Campbell.
