bullet  General Notes:

Reminiscences on Beryl by Judith McKenzie.
Beryl, the youngest of the ten, special little sister to my mother, and similar in colouring, blue eyes, dark hair and fair skin. Intelligent, able and loving, her illness (TB) contracted during her nursing at Wellington Hospital and death in 1937, affected my mother profoundly. I was taken to see her a few months before her death, or rather, I was taken with my little brother Alan, to stand on the lawn in front of her hospital window so that she could see us. She too had been one of the aunts who had kept up the supply of books (birthdays and Christmas) to the country nieces and nephews.
2005

Margot Fenn was close to her sister, who she called Bidgie, she was deeply affected by her death from TB. Margot lost 2 close siblings to the disease and retained a dread of the illness all her life.
