Gregory was under 16 in Oct 1558. Mary Terbrack calculates his birth c 1546
Gregory's family is also based upon John Alstons Will dated 31 Jul 1615 Partly transcribed copy on file.

WILL OF GREGORY ALSTONE Of EDWARDSTONE. 1 Dec 1630 Gregory Alstone of Edwardstone in the County of Suffolk and Dioces of Norwich, Weaver desires to be buried in the Churchyard of the parish of Edwardstone By a deed of enfeoffment 16 Sep. 16 Jas. I in favour of his four sons Richard, Thomas the elder, Peter and Anthony two messuages or tenementes with a barne, other buildings orchards and gardens adjoining, three crofts of land, one called Slodes, the other two called the Lords crofts were assigned, but to be enjoyed by him the said Gregory and Abigail his wife during their lives - on the death of Gregory and his wife the four sons mentioned above to inherit said lands and buildings provided the sum of L70 is paid to certain persons named in will out of the proceeds of said messuages &c To Thomas Allston grandchild L8 provided he shall enter into bond not to trouble or vex the sons in possesion of said lands, should he refuse the legacy to be void L10 to Thomas Allston the younger, testator's son. L10 to Robart Allston the younger, testator's son. L10 to Samuel Allston the younger, testator's son. To testator's 4 daughters, Mary Susan, Mary (sic-should be Sarah) and Abigail L8 each These legacies to be paid within one year of the death of Gregory the testator or of Abigail his wife, whichever shall be the longer liver The legacy to Thomas Allston grandchild to be equally divided amoung the four daughters, should said grandchild die or refuse to give bond as directed The legacies of L10 each to Thomas the younger Samuel and Robart, should one brother die, to be divided between the survivors. In the same manner, should one daughter die before receiving her legacy, the money to be equally divided between the survivors. Should the 4 sons Richard, Thomas the elder, Peter and Anthony not carry out the testator's wishes with regard to the payment of the L70, the deed of feofment to be void-the lands, tenements &c to be given to Samuel Allston son of testator and his heirs, with power to sell the said tenements and lands and raise the money to pay the legacies, any overplus to be shared equally by said Richard, Thomas the elder, Peter and Anthony The three daughters Susan, Sara and Abigail to have the use of said messuages and lands for one year after the death of testator or of Abigail his wife, which ever shall live the longer. To three daughters Susan, Sara and Abigail L20 each on attaining the age of 21 years. To Thomas Allstone the younger 40/- To Mary Waspe daughter of testator wife of Thomas Waspe 20/- To sons Samuel and Robert and daughters Susan Sarah and Abigail the inward household stuff to be equally divided. To sons Samuel and Robert all the rest of the moveable goods and Chattels, household stuff and household implements, they to pay all debts legacies and funeral expenses and are appointed sole executors Richard Hale yeoman of Edwardstone intreated to be supervisor of this will and for his pains to have 3/4d Probate 13 May 1634 granted to Robert sole executor.
