Samuel ALSTON of Edwardstone [2654]
- Born: Abt 1605
- Marriage (1): Mary [4027]
- Buried: 26 Aug 1658, Edwardstone SFK
General Notes:
Samuel is mentioned four times in his fathers Will 1630, once as Samuel the younger. He is executor of his sister Sarah's Will 1634. 2017 - Mary Terbrack having read the original of Samuels Father's Will cannot find Samuel described as the "the younger" and concludes that statement a mistranscription.

Notes
*a pair of stockerds - possibly a pair of scales. 'Stockerds' may be an alternative spelling for 'stockyards', 'stock' and 'yard' each meaning 'stick or rod' and 'yard' also referring to a unit of measurement, as compared with 'a pair of stilliards' meaning 'steelyards' which was a pair of portable scales (<https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/yard>) (<https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/stock>) (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/stilliard#English <https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/stilliard>) *form - a mould (<https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/form>) *keler - a vessel for cooling liquids, a tub (<https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/keler>) *mustard quarms - unsure as to the meaning of this (possibly a weighing device?) *placke - perhaps meaning a plaque of some kind (https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/plaque#English <https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/plaque>) *postered bedstead - assuming this means a four poster bed *rood - a quarter of an acre (<https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/rood>) *skummer - assuming this is a spelling for 'scummer' - an instrument for taking off scum (<https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/scummer>), or perhaps a 'skimmer' for milk - a device that skims, a sieve-like slotted spoon (<https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/skimmer>)
