Obituary,
Manawatu Evening Standard, 13 May 1963.
Mr M Laurenson.
A well known identity of Palmerston North and surrounding districts, Mr Morgan Laurenson, died recently at his residence, 31 Rangatira Avenue. He was in his 67th year.
Mr Laurenson had lived most of his life in Palmerston North, having shifted there from his birthplace, Quail Island, with his mother, brothers and sisters, at the age of five years, after his father's early death.
He received his education at the old Campbell Street School, and apart from a brief period in a solicitor's office he was associated throughout his life in the grain and produce business. In 1946 he commenced business in this field on his own account.
A returned serviceman from both World Wars, he was actively interested in the RSA and for a period served on the executive.
He was keenly interested in sport, especially cricket, and for many years was an active player and later became patron of both competitive and social clubs.
Always interested in others, he spared nothing to help those in need and it is with this thought that his passing will be felt by his many friends and associates.
He is survived by two daughters, Valerie (Mrs J.L.Horner, Takapau) and Diana (Mrs C.Bowen, Bulls)

He was cremated about 23 Apr 1963 in Palmerston North, NZ. Morgan held the title of 23/2023 Pte. Attested Trentham 16 Nov 1915. Height 5' 8", 137 lbs, fair complexion, blue eyes, brown hair.
Lived at 14 Rangitane St. PN 1940
