Educated in the Public State Schools 5 years and finally for 3 years at Queens College, Auckland New Zealand. Apprenticeship served with W A Ryan & Co, Auckland, New Zealand, from 23rd of November 1896 to 12 December 1901. Worked as fitter from August 29, 1902, to 14 January 1903 with the British Westinghouse Company. Engaged as Switchman from January 20 to November 18, 1903 in the Dickinson Street and Bloom Street generating stations of the Manchester Corporation Electricity Works. Shift engineer from November 25, 1903 to December 16, 1904 in the power station of the Mersey Tunnel Railway. Engineer in charge from 11th of January 1905 to 18th of April 1906, of the Thornhill Power Station of the Yorkshire Electric Power Co. Shift engineer from 21st of April 1906 which position I at present hold in Summer Lane Generating Station Birmingham. Associate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers.
