William first appeared when he and others leased a messuage in Wethersfield on the highway from Wethersfield to Braintree from Thomas Smith on 24 Jun 1453.^[1] William surrendered properties called Manfeld and Motennesmede to Thomas Rande and wife Joan on 15 Dec 1453.^[2] William, John Yongman, and William Walworth gave a quitclaim on a cottage and a garden on the highway from Wethersfield to Braintree to John Allen on 21 Jun 1468.^[3] William and John Cut Sr. purchased a cottage and garden in Wethersfield on the highway from Wethersfield to Braintree from John Aleyn on 27 Jun 1468.^[4] William and Thomas Christmas leased a property in Wethersfield to brother John Stamer and others on 20 Mar 1478/79.^[5]
