John married Ellen (---)about 1505 in Wethersfield. He and others purchased a feoffment in Wethersfield called Stavereth on the road from Blakemere to Gosfield from William Rede in 20 Sep 1507.[1] John was one of the purchasers of a feoffment in Wethersfield along with 48. John Yongman and his son Humphrey Yongman, and others from William Rowchester on 20 Jun 1521.[2] John left a will on 29 Aug 1540. Ellen was executrix and was given items in the will.[3]

Feoffment
Wm. Rede, yeoman (co-exor. of John Brydge), to Henry Rede; potter, John Rede (son of Walt.Rede), Henry Northey and John Stamer jun., all of Wethersfield.
A croft in Blakemere in Wethersfield called Stavereth (cont. 2 and a half ac.) between the highway from Blakemere to Gosfield on the one part and land belonging to the Manor of Oldehalle on the other, one head abutting on garden lately of Thomas Lovelond deceased on the S., and the other on land of said Manor on the N., which land lately descended to me and Thomas Lyvermer (the other exor.) by virtue of the remainder after Thomas Bryde ( sic ) in fulfilment of the will of the said Thomas Lovelond as shown in a feoffment, 14 June 1497; also a building with a garden in Wethersfield which were formerly of William Parker and afterwards of thos. Warde, after whose death it descended to John his son and heir and which together with Thomas Lovelond late of Wethersfield, Edw. Davenant of Sible Hedingham, gent., Thomas and Robt. Craneford and Robert Spryng now deceased had of the feoffment of John Warde.
Witnesses: William Lyvermer; Thomas Walaker; John Lyvermer, sen.; Wm. Hadstok; John Keme, sen; Thomas Cutt; Christopher Byflatt; Thos. Shott; Richard Walaker; John Newman.
