Edward PASFIELD [26691]
- Marriage (1): Agnes [26692]
General Notes:
Session rolls 11 Sept 1602 Richard Garter of Wetherfield, labourer, for stopping up a water-course flowing from the water-mill in the same in the tenure of Edward Pasfield the elder,
National Archives 37-Q/SR 191 49 Recognizances of Richard Burton, husbandman, Nicholas pasfield and John Okelye, yeomen, for Burton's appearance and aswer to such matters as shall be objected against him by Thomas Digbye, Edward Chott, Nicholas Pasfeild and John Okelye, all of wethersfield, for receiving :ill companye into his house and kepeinge ill rule, sufferinge them to sitt drinkinge and tipplinge at unlawe(ful) owers in the night tyme." Taken as above. Discharged. 26 Apr 1610 I believe this John Ckelye is probably John Clerk. If this is true, is is a grandson of Humphrey Yongman and a stepfather (it is a little strange genealogy here, both being Clarks - topic for another day) to the wife of John Clerk MD that owned one of the manors in the area for a while. It is this confusion that caused Morant to call the MD Yongman alias Clark. Forrest King 2017
