Bill, undated, by Edward Pasfield of Wethersfield, co. Essex, wheelwright, v. Solomon Alston of Wethersfield mercer.
Defendant is indebted to complainant in about L20 for goods, &c., supplied him during the last five years ; and at the request of the said Solomon complainant took L5 worth of goods in part payment ; and now he refuses to come to any account with him, and instead of paying him, sues him for debt.
The suit [Hamilton 556 ?] Pasfield v. Alstone, in which the bill is dated 9 July 1679, is apparently a duplicate of this. In the answer attached to the last said bill, defendant says the complainant is rather a debtor to him than vice versa, as he alleges in his bill ; defendant being now in London, and his account books at his house in the country,
forty miles distant, he cannot now give an answer in particular.
