Dear Sir,
I have examined the Registers carefully from 1558 but can find no trace of the Alston family till that very doubtful burial in 1675 . . . . . The early book from 1558 is in places very much defaced and occasronally obliterated and torn, Still I do not think there could be any Alston name.

John married Anne ALSTON of Groton [994] [MRIN: 321], daughter of Samuel ALSTON [640] and Sarah [122], on 25 Sep 1759 at Groton By License. (Anne ALSTON of Groton [994] was baptised on 6 Feb 1725/26 in Edwardstone SFK and died in 1761.)
