Faculty Office John VANDERZEE, Bachelor September 7th 1741 On which Day appeared Personally John Vanderzee of the parish of St Martin Orgar London Batchelor aged upwards of twenty four years and alleged that he intends to marry with Ann Woolston of the same parish Spinster aged upwards of twenty one years and upwards he this Deponent Not knowing or believing any lawfull Let or Impediment by reason of any Precontract Consanguinity Affinity or any other lawfull mean whatsoever to hinder the said intended Marriage of the truth of the Premisses he made oath and Prayed licence to solemnize said Marriage in the Parish Church of St Mary White Chappell in the County of Middlesex St Brides London or Greenwich in the County of Kent Jno Vanderzee Before Me G? This John is new, b. c1717, with no other records yet found for him or his wife. Again he cannot be directly connected to our line, but he might be a son of James and Hester, above. Interesting that although both living in the same parish they wanted to marry in one of three diverse churches. Rosie Flower
I suspect that John who married Ann WOOLSTON could be a son of James/Jacobus & Hester FIDGETT who married in 1709. On the marriage licence John gives his aged as "upwards of 24" - likely to mean 24 not yet 25, whereas "upwards of 21" can be any age above that, indicating only that he/she has reached their majority. This would make his birth around 1717 Rosie Flower - 2008
