Record of Monumental Inscriptions from St Michael Latchingdon, Churchyard:
162 Table \endash tomb with the north side (on which the inscription is found) broken away and in three pieces. The lid appears to have no inscription on it at all. "In memory of / Mrs Mary Vanderzee / wife of Mr George Vanderzee / And only daughter of the late / Edmund Hammond Esq / Of Lawling Hall of this Parish / who died September 13, 1808 / Aged 37 years ? And of Elleanor Vanderzee their daughter ? Died September 11, 1808 / Aged four days."

bullet  Research Notes:

The researcher (ELF) considers Mary may have died before 1809, in the letter of 1809 that Geo Vanderzee wrote to Geo Alston he only mentions "Philla" was his sister living with him? As a housekeeper?

2022 As a result of a contact from Lone Skau, who now lives in the deconsecrated church of St Michael Latchingdon ESS we now know Mary died postpatum after the birth of her daughter Eleanor.
She and Eleanor are recorded on the Hammond family tomb in Latchingdon Churchyard, but there is no record of a burial in the Latchingdon Register at that time ?.
