Stan went to school at Curra ; joined the Queensland Railways and was porter at Curra ; his father was Station Master. Stan was transferred to Kanyan, which was only the next stop so he resigned from the Railways. [This information from an older sister as Dad did not talk about his achievements]
After working for several farms in the district, Stan took up permanent residence at Woolooga, 20 miles from Gympie, and commenced working for the Kilkivan Shire Council as a ganger, he remained there until he retired in 1970. After so many years work, he was presented with a silver tray.
Stan was a talented young cricketer and was selected to go to Brisbane on one occassion. He played for the Woolooga District for many years. When too old for the game he umpired and was known for his fairness. He was also very community minded, being on the School Committee for the many years he had children attending the school. He was also many years on the Woolooga Progress Association.
After his wife died he spent his last years with his dog Sally at Beach Rd Pialba.

Julius, Stanley Villiers, at his residence 26 Beach Road Pialba, Hervey Bay, formerly of Woolooga, on March 1, 1985, aged 82 years. Beloved husband of the late Vera Julius, loved father and father-in-law of Dulcie and Reg Malkin (Nambour) Marge and Jeff Larsen (Point Vernon) Tom and Brian Greenslade (Kingaroy) Vera Davies (Maryborough) Val and Peter Hancock (Weipa) Gwynn and Vernon Grogan (Brisbane). Grandfather and great-grandfather of their families.
The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral to move from St Peter's Anglican Church, Lady Mary Terrace, Gympie, tomorrow, Tuesday, after a service commencing at 2 PM for the interment in the Gympie Lawn Cemetery.

Stanley married Vera Mabel Jessica Ada DAWE [929] [MRIN: 302], daughter of John Crossman DAWE [320] and Mrs CLEE [321], on 16 May 1927 in St Peters Gympie. (Vera Mabel Jessica Ada DAWE [929] was born on 13 Aug 1905, died on 11 Jun 1984 in Pialba Point Vernon Nursing Home Qld. and was buried in Gympie Cemetery.). The cause of her death was a stroke.
