Sydney and his family made much money in 19thC NZ

With his wife he leased the Heligan Gardens between the Wars, they were keen gardeners.
At their demise it seems the gardens were not kept in order until in 1990 a much heralded discovery of the "Lost Gardens of Heligan" took place and they were restored to become a popular tourist attraction in the area

Williamson Sydney of Heligan Pentewan Cornwall died 11 October 1943 Probate Llandudno 10 January 1944 to Thomas Cromwell Williamson Lt Col HM Army, Amy Sydney Anstice (wife of John Henry Anstice) and George Isaac Oswald Briggs solicitor. Effects £48,092. 8s 2d. Re-sealed Sydney New South Wales Australia 13 July 1945.
