Edward Alston Gent of Newton on the 13 Aug 1653 entered into a deed of Marriage Settlement with Ann Thorogood, identifying 3 messuages (orchards), half an acre of hop ground near the Saracens Head (Public House on Newton Green), and lands called Rotten Row, Newton's House Field (51 on the boarder of great Cornard Parish, 6 fields from the Saracen down the road towards Sudbury), Knotts Garden (170 a small parcel SW of the village), Archers Lands.

Anne married Edward ALSTON [2786] [MRIN: 1184], son of Edmund ALSTON [2617] and Rachel SKINNER [2782], in 1653. (Edward ALSTON [2786] was baptised on 29 May 1621 in Newton Nr Sudbury SFK and was buried on 21 Apr 1690 in Newton Nr Sudbury SFK.)
