  General Notes:

John immigrated to Boston Massachusetts about 1667. In 1680 he was appointed the executor of the Will of his uncle Thomas Temple of Suffolk County Massachusetts. In 1691 his ship was captured by the French in Nova Scotia. He spent a year as a prisoner in Québec, and two more years imprisoned in France. He returned to Boston in 1698 where he was a successful fur trader. In 1701 his wife Elizabeth inherited lands at Readville Massachusetts from her uncle, Lieutenant Governor William Stoughton. He built the first bridge in Readville Massachusetts sometime prior to 1719.
