Mrs Emily Matilda Morris, of Danygraig, Porthcawl, widow of Mr George Byng Morris, JP, DL, whose death on July 9 at the age of 79 removed from our midst a great sporting lady, she was one of the oldest members of the Cotswolds Hunt and she and her husband hunted on the hills for over 30 years; left estate of the gross value of £28,404 of which £24,397 is net personality, and probate of her will, dated October 20, 1904, with a codicil of July 18, 1912, has been granted to her son's, Mr Charles Smith Morris of the Clevis, Porthcawl, engineer, and Mr Thomas Byng Morris, of Olchfa House, Sketty, Swansea, estate agent. Mrs Morris left Clevis house and the Orchard Cottage and the orchard adjoining to her son, charged with the payment of £500 to her daughter, Rose Herbert Morris, and subject to some specific bequests she left the remainder of her plate and plated articles to her son's and her daughter Rose (if the last name is unmarried at her death) in equal shares; her pictures, "Our Saviour" by Harlow and "London Bridge" to her son and Thomas Byng Morris; her pictures of Mr and Mrs C Smith to her son Robert Townsend; her picture of Sir John Morris by Hoppner, to her son Charles Smith Morris; her picture of Sir George and Lady Leeds to the holder of the Leeds baronetcy; her picture of John Smith and Charles Smith to her son George Lockwood Morris; her picture of C H Smith and Myles Smith to her son Musgrave Morris; her pictures at Derwen Fawr to her son's Frank Hall Morris and George Lockwood Morris in equal shares; and the remainder of her oil and watercolours she left her sons and daughters to choose as they may desire in order of seniority. The residue of her estate she left to her sons in equal shares.
