Charlotte is believed to have come under the influence of Dr Pusey of the Oxford Movement, who were keen to revive the establishment of religious houses in Britain. She joined the Society of the Most Holy Trinity as a novice in 1850 and after taking her vows was known as Sister Fridswida.
