Samuel and Elizabeth emigrated to South Aust in 1848 on the "Royal George" with their baby son Samuel. He was a master builder and carpenter, some of his work still remains in Port Elliot including the cedar pews and wall paneling in St Judes Church, made by him in 1866, and the front door in 1870. He also owned houses in Port Elliott and Middleton. The Port Elliot house named "Glengowrie" was the family home.

The Bible Christian cemetery is where Sam Snr d 1884, his wife Sarah d 1881 and son Sam Jnr drowned 1887, are buried.

Trigg property in Port Elliot
17 Murray Tce. "Glengarry" Land Grant to Sam Trigg Snr 1853 for £75-7-6 Home of San snr and later San Jnr & Mary Ann & 9 children. Sam Snr built the house. Sam Snr later bought the allotment either side of the house. All this land was sold in 1898.

Allot 133 in Freeling St. Land Grant to Sam Snr. 1853. Sold to E F Hughes 1854, named "Trigg Cottage" 1970 when bought by hippies, after the first name on the title

The property next to "Trigg" Cottage was conveyed to Sam Snr in 1865 for the later use of Sam Jr., who was a minor at the time. Possibly the granite front house was built by Sam Snr. Property sold by Sam Jnr's widow, Mary Ann in 1892, to W J Harding. A new house was built in 1900.

20 & 22 The Strand Allots 163 & 162.Bought by Sam Snr in 1868 who possibly built the drapery shop c1870. He sold in 1883 but regained through mortgage. Transmitted to Sam's daughter Miriam Sarah Parsons who sold in 1886.

Arthur Street Allot 140, Land Grant to Sam Snr 1853. House built 1853 note date under front doorstep. It was the second stone house was built in Port Elliot John & Ann lived here & raised their 8 surviving children. John conducted his boot and shoe-making business here. John bought in 1851. Sold in 1911.
