A Mary Smith is listed in Barking parish register as baptised 17 (?) September 1686 daughter of John Smith and Mary his wife. The date in Sept is difficult to decipher. This ties in perfectly with our family. The Bildeston entry on several Ancestry trees is a complete red herring. John Smith married Mary Parker in Barking in 1685 (Findmypast - Boyds). There are plenty of Smith burials in Barking.
