Mary TOUCHER (DOWNING) [16757]

   Another name for Mary was Mary /WOOLSGROVE HOWDEN.

  General Notes:

Mary and their two children followed her husband to Australia in late 1827 as free passengers
on the the ship "Alexander Henry".

Mary left her husband on various occasions and assumed a variety of surnames, Rayner, Howden, Woolsgrove. The reason for this is not clearly understood.

Accordingly this record of the issue of Mary Toucher is conjectural, at least in so much as many of the family were baptised, married and buried inconsistently under various names. It is most probable that Robert Bogg & Robert Howden were the same person.

In 2018 Rod mails to say he has found an extensive reference to Mary as Mary Downing

Mary married Robert BOGG Jnr [16756] [MRIN: 6006], son of Robert BOGG [18431] and Mary [18432], about 1825 in England. (Robert BOGG Jnr [16756] was born about 1799 in Lincolnshire, died on 30 Apr 1875 in Bridgey Swamp Big Hill Arthursleigh Marulan NSW and was buried in Marulan NSW AU.)

Mary had a relationship with Robert HOWDEN [25430] [MRIN: 9159]. (Robert HOWDEN [25430] was born on 20 Aug 1791 in Fishlake YKS, baptised on 28 Aug 1791 in Fishlake YKS and died in 1859 in Sydney NSW Australia.)

Mary next married Thomas RAYNER [18438] [MRIN: 6636], son of Thomas TOWLE [28933] and Hebe RAYNER [28934], on 16 Jul 1849 in Paterson NSW. (Thomas RAYNER [18438] was born in 1799 in Lincolnshire and died on 29 Sep 1881 in Ulmarra NSW.)
