Will dated 15 May 1623, Probate 9 July 1623 of William Yeoman of Essendon PROB 11/142.

In the name of God Amen. I William Liveing of Essendon in the county of Hertford yeoman being of perfect memory
thanks be unto God do make this my last Will and testament in manner and form as followeth. First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God, my only saviour and redeemer and my body to be buried in the churchyard within the Christian burial. Item I bequeath and give unto Joane Leae, daughter unto Henry Lea, six pounds.
Item unto Scibell Lea her sister six pounds in lieu of that which was given by John Liveing deceased to be paid within one half year after the death of the said William Liveing. Item I give unto the four daughters of John Turner five pounds five shillings apiece in lieu of that which was given them by John Liveing deceased to be paid within one year and a month after the decease of the aforesaid William Liveing as be then living.
Item I give to Emm my wife ten shillings and all the goods which she did bring with her.
Item I bequeath and give to George Usmand all the goods move-able at kinship within the house that was late William Liveing. Item I bequeath and give unto Annis Easte my sister all the moveable goods that are in her house and forty shillings of money to be paid within one whole year after my decease if she be then living.
Item I bequeath and give to Richard Liveing my brother all my lease or reversion of lease that is within the parish of Essendon in the county of Hertford aforesaid with all the singular appurtenances and benefit that is there or shall pertain unto the said lease and all manner of lands, rents, and dues whatsoever, likewise all manner of bonds, bills, and surrenders whatsoever only reserving on land of arable ground being in the hands of one Richard Vinson one of His Majesty's yeomen of the guard, the which surrender I bequeath and give to Annis Liveing daughter unto Gregory Liveing for the money that I received of her
father.
Item I bequeath and give unto the said Annis three shillings fourpence.
Item I bequeath and give unto Richard Liveing aforesaid all my said moveable goods, corn, and cattle with carts, plows, and
chattell whatsoever and all the rest of my moveable goods unbequeathed and ungiven unto the said Richard whom I appoint and ordain to be my full, whole, and entire executor to take all my debts and for to pay all the legacies within my Will specified with all other manner of debts which are due for him to pay and with all seeing my body solemnly buried,
lastly I appoint William Bankes and William Brian for to be my overseers of this my last Will and testament and for their pains I give them five shillings apiece. Also I do renounce and disannul all former gifts and wills that are made by me, only referring this my last Will and testament to stand.
