General Notes:
Solomon purchased 100 acres on Wicken Creek from John Council on 11 Nov 1729.[[2]] He was an overseer of a road on 14 Feb 1736.[[3]] Solomon was an administrator on the estate of brother-in-law William Hinton[[4]] He sold 260 acres at the mouth of Bryant Branch to John Perry of Chowan on 15 Dec 1736.[[5]] Solomon purchased 200 acres on the north side of Jacket Swamp from Richard Braswell on 22 May 1745.[[6]] On that same day, he was one of the tobacco warehouse commissioners.[[7]] On 21 May 1751, Solomon purchased 150 acres Contentney Swamp from brother Joseph John Alston.[[8]] A short time later Solomon bought 150 acres on the north side of Tosniot Creek adjoining sd. Solomon from Solomon Joyner on 1 Aug 1751.[[9]] He sold 400 acres on Town Creek to James Braswell on 10 Apr 1753.[[10]] Solomon first purchased land in Granville County on 20 Sep 1754 when he bought 644 acres at the fork of Fishing and Shocco Creek from William Hurst.[[11]] He sold 205 acres on Town Creek to Moses Baker Jr. in 1756.[[12]] On 1 Oct 1756, he sold to James Braswell Jr. 205 acres on Mill Swamp.[[13]] He had now relocated to Granville County by 13 May 1758 when he sold 150 acres on Contentney Swamp to William Wilder.[[14]] Solomon gave 200 acres between Fishing and Shocco Creeks to son Solomon Jr on 18 Dec 1758.[[15]] He purchased 213 acres between Fishing and Shocco Creek from son Solomon Jr. 30 Jul 1765.[[16]] Solomon and wife Nancy sold to William Park 32 acres on Rich Neck Creek on 29 Jan 1771.[[17]] His will was dated 14 Sep 1780.[[18]] His will was proved on 31 Jan 1785. Nancy received furniture in the will of her father on 21 Jun 1730.[[19]]
