Bill 14 February 1698, by Roger Allstone of the parish of St. Buttolph's Bishopsgate, in London, weaver, v. Jansien Maria of Stepney, weaver
Orator has acted as trustee of certain money to be paid by defendant for a house to be built in Cox's square, Stepney ; and in this business he gave a bond to said Maria, who now pretends Orator owes him large sums of
money.

COX v. ALSTON.
Bill, 10 July 1693, by John Cox, citizen and carpenter of London, v. Roger Alstone.
The defendant, an acquaintance of your complainant for some years past, did importune complainant to take a lease of a piece of ground in Stepney, belonging to Elizabeth Mountague, widow of Edward Mountague of Horton, co. Northants ; and lent him L50 on mortgage to enable him to build.
The suit is for relief against an execution threatened by Alston.
Alston says he is a stranger to the matter of the lease, but advanced money on the land.

LEQUIEU v. ALSTON.
Bill, 16 May 1694, by Peter Lequieu of Stepney, gent., v. Roger Alston, citizen and cooper of London.
In April 1693 the defendant mortgaged to complainant for L75 his lease for 50 years of two tenements in Stepney,
at a yearly rent of 40/s. which he held from Elizabeth Montague, widow ; at the same time Roger undertook to
" fully finish the said two messuages in a workmanlike manner " by the 24th of June following ; a great part of the premises yet remains unfinished, and they remain wholly untenanted, charged with arrears of ground rent, &c., &c.
The suit is brought for redress not obtainable at common law.

LEQUIEU v. ALSTON.
Answer, 8 June 1694, of Roger Alston to the complaint of Peter Lequieu.
Defendant had a lease from Elizabeth Mountague, widow, of premises in Stepney, and borrowed by mortgage thereon from complainant.
