1. Elizabeth Walford: Will, 1 Apr 1751, Lamarsh ESS. Will of Elizabeth Alston 1 April 1751. Proved 21 Dec 1751. In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Alston of Lamarsh in the County of Essex Widow being of sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding (Praised be God for the Same) do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (That is to say) First I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hoping for Pardon of all my Sins through the Merits and Intercession of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ And my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executors hereinafter named And as to the worldly Estate which it has pleased God to bestow upon me I Dispose thereof as Follows First I Give and Devise to John Mefsent of Alphamstone in the said County Blacksmith All and singular my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditments situate lying and being in the Lamarsh and Alphamstone in the said County of Essex To hold to him his Heirs and Assigns forever In Trust that he do sell the same as soon after my Decease as conveniently may be and apply the Monies arising by Sale thereof in the first Place in Discharging of the Principal and Interest due on Mortgage made of the said Premises And as to the Remainder of such Monies I Give the Same to my Son Moses Also I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Amelia All my Clothes and Linen and also all my Goods Chattels and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever After Payment of One hundred pounds which was given to my said Son Moses in and by the last Will and Testament of Moses Alston my late Husband deceased and also my just Debts Funeral Charges and the Charges of the Probate of this my Will And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my Brother James Walford and the said John Mefsent Executors of this my Will and I do hereby revoke all former and other Wills by me at any Time heretofore made and do declare this to be my last In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this first Day of April in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Fifty one. The Mark + of Elizabeth Alston Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Elizabeth Alston the Testatrix as and for her last Will and Testament in the Presence of Us And by Us attested in her Presence Samuel Fisk Robert Newman W Ager. Proved the 21st Day of December the Year of our Lord 1751 Before the Revd. H Burrough Clerk A.M. lawful Surrogate etc. And by the Oaths of John Messent and James Walford the Executors to whom administration was granted they being first sworn duly to Administer.
Elizabeth married Moses ALSTON of Lamarsh [4561] [MRIN: 820], son of Robert ALSTON [4212] and Mary [4570], on 25 Jun 1734 in Brantham SFK. (Moses ALSTON of Lamarsh [4561] was baptised on 21 Aug 1690 in Sible Hedingham ESS and died about 1746 in Essex.)
