Wednefday's Poft. From the London Gazette May 2. War Office April 27 1772. Seventh regiment of foot, Anthony Lewis Layard, Gent, is appointed to be Lieutenant, vice Charles Churchill, preferred by purchafe. Edinburgh Advertiser. April 27, 1772.
Anthony was a joint Executor of his brother-in-law Peter Pegus's estate 1803.

Administration (with the Will) of the Personal Estate of Anthony Lewis Layard late of the City of Salisbury Esquire a Lieutenant-General in the Army a Bachelor who died 7 June 1823 at Salisbury left un-administered by John Thomas Layard the Brother and by Susannah Henrietta Pegus Widow the Sister the Executors was granted at the Principal Registry under certain Specialties to the Most Honourable Mary Antoinette Dowager Marchioness of Huntley of Orton Longueville in the County of Huntingdon Widow the Administratrix of the Personal Estate of the Right Honourable Charlotte Susannah Elizabeth Dowager Countess of Lindsey the Niece and one of the Persons entitled in Distribution to the undisposed-of Residue. Former Grants Prerogative Court of Canterbury June 1823 and October 1828.
