Indictments of Stephen Beckingham of Tolleshunt Darcy, genleman, for assaulting William pasfeld, vicar of the same, in the parish church of the same, and striking him with his right hand; and for saying these obbrobrious worde to him while he was celebrating Divine service in the aid parish church on the same day, being Sunday, "Thou art a dance and a bould dunce I will make the neyther parson nor vycar here but I will not call the knave", and so distrubing him in calebrating Divine Service as aoresaid. Found true bill; endorsed; Stephen Clarke, Henry Bullen, Philip Whight and Robert Horrodde, Witnesses.

Certificate from William Pasfield, clerk, and Thomas Wallinge, gentleman, reciting that whereas at the last Quarter Sesions the dispute pending between Richard Browne and hugh Barker of Chelmsford, and their wives, was referred to them to determine and certify the next sessions, since that time they have taken what pains lay in them, with the sid and assistance of come other principal neighbours, for the better avoiding of scandals, and yet they can draw them to no unity and peace, the said Barker being altogether defective therein and refusing to stand to their order.
Subscribed that the variance between the said parties is referred to Sir Thomas Mildmaye, knt., Sir Thomas Mildmaye of Barnes, knt., and Humphrey Mildmaye, esq., to hear and determine, and they are to certify those persons as they shall find to be wilfully of obstinately contentious as aforesaid.
