[Note regarding Poedobaptists:
Independents, Poedobaptists or Brownists were formed by Robert Browne (1550-1633) an Anglican clergyman in 1582. The Congregational Union of England And Wales was formed in 1833 or 1904.
Beliefs: Only head of church is Jesus Christ, the church has no relation to the state, only statute is the bible. They reject Bishops and each congregation was independant and chose its own minister.
In 1972 the Congregationalists and Presbyterians united to form the United Reformed Church.

It would appear that Poedobaptism is a Faith but Paedobaptism (pedobaptism) is a Christian practice of baptizing infants.

The Paedobaptist position held by evangelicals may be distinguished from the view held by those who affirm baptismal regeneration (sacramentalist). Sacramentalists include Catholics, Lutherans, and Anglicans, while anti-sacramentalists have included those in the Reformed tradition, Baptists and Anabaptists. Following the Protestant Reformation, anti-sacramentalists comprised two major groups: the Baptists who opposed infant baptism and the Paedobaptists who supported it.

Wikipedia says: "Baptists are Christians who comprise a group of denominations and churches that subscribe to a doctrine that baptism should be performed only for professing believers (believer's baptism, as opposed to infant baptism), and that it must be done by immersion (as opposed to affusion <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affusion> or sprinkling)."

This website http://easyweb.easynet.co.uk/ktcong/congregationalism3.html says: "the only difference between the Baptists and Congregationalists was on the issue of baptism..." and this website http://www.walkingtogetherministries.org/Blog/tabid/57/EntryId/427/Daniel-Turners-i-A-Modest-Plea-for-Free-Communion-at-the-Lords-Table-Particularly-Between-the-Baptists-and-the-Paedobaptists-In-a-Letter-to-a-Friend-i-A-Review.aspx says "Turner writes, he says, because he has heard "that I, and the Church under my care, have been severely censured by several of our stricter brethren
of the Baptist denomination, for admitting Poedobaptists to commune with us at the Lord's Table" (3). He then gives his reasons for allowing infant-baptized believers to come to the table." It appears therefore that Congregationalists and Poedobaptists are supporters of infant baptism whilst Baptists and Anabaptists support baptism only for (adult) professing believers.]
