We found a potential marriage of a John Alston and an Elizabeth Grant on 21st March 1703/4 at St Katherine Cree; however this John Alston is described as clerk to Pelatia Barnardiston, a merchant in Crutched Friars in London.

John lived 1703-1715 in Shoemakers Row he died 1715

Mary Terbrack ponders John may be John Alston of Gt Waldingfield, [228] because his name kept changing between, Alstone, Allstone, but nearly always with an e on the end. 2013
