Sir George held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cheshire between March 1646 and 1648. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Booth, of Dunham Massey, co. Chester [E., 1611] on 24 October 1652. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cheshire between 1654 and 1656. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cheshire between 1656 and 1658. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lancashire in 1659. He was Commander-in-Chief of the the forces in Cheshire, Lancashire and North Wales, for the King. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cheshire in 1660. In 1661 He was imprisoned by the Parliamentarians in the Tower of London. He was created 1st Baron Delamer of Dunham Massey, co. Chester [England] on 20 April 1661.
