Garwood served in Gallipoli and was killed on 12 Aug 1915. He was a Second Lieutenant in the Suffolk Regiment A Coy 5th Bat and is remembered on Panels 46 and 47. of the Helles Memorial Gallipoli.
He was posthumously awarded the Victory Medal, British War Medal and the 1914/15 Star
