Obituary.
On Tuesday morning Mr Jiimes Armstrong, of German Bay, died suddenly. Deceased bad been ailing and Dr McEeddie was in attendance, but it was not anticipated-the end was so near. Mr Armstrong is an old Akaroa boy, having beeq. born and brought up here. He was the fifth son of the late Mr Goo Armstrong, of Mt. Vernon, and brother of the Mayor of Akaroa. From early years he worked on the land. He had a good deal of experience in farming, spending several years up in North Island. He then came back to, the Peninsula, , and worked for Mr H. D. Buchanan, of Little River. For some years past he has been farming on the Ger nan Bay portion of tbe Armstrong Estate. He leaves ,a widow and six children, two sons and four daughters. He wasofya kindly pleasant disposition, and much regret is generally felt for his sudden decease. There was a very large following at his funeral yesterday afternoon. He was buried in the Church of England Cemetery, Akaroa. The Rev. A. H. Julius officiated at the grave."
