TORLESSE: On the 10th October, at Ferguson street, Musselburgh, the wife of C. E Torlesse, of a daughter.

WEDDING:
A wedding of interest in the South was that of Miss Betty Torlesse, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Torlesse, Union Bank, Timaru, to Mr. Harold Wright, third, son of Mrs. A. W. Wright, of Secheron. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a charming frock of cream Brocade with frills of georgette piped with brocade, long georgette sleeves, and a tulle veil caught with a pearl coronet, and orange blossoms. The court train was of white and silver brocade, lined with lavender georgette, and the wedding bouquet was of pale pink flowers. The bridesmaids were Misses Lulu Hay and Susie Torlesse, who were in deep apricot brocade and georgette three-tier frocks, with head dresses consisting of bandeaux of flowers and silver ribbon. Their bouquets were of shaded sweet peas. Mr. Douglas Barker was best man, and Mr. J. Torlesse groomsman.
After, the ceremony a reception was held at the Union Bank, Mrs. Torlesse receiving in handsome black and gold brocade and a black hat. Mrs. A. W. Wright wore black crepe marocain with circular frills and a black, hat. Others, present were Mrs.Frank Barker, Mrs. F. Evans, Miss Wright, Mrs. George Rhodes, Miss Revell, Mrs. Pritchett, Miss Higgins, Mrs J. A. Julius, Mrs. Hay, Mrs Temple, the Rev. C. Pritchett, and a number of others. The wedding ceremony took place at St. Mary's Church, which was prettily decorated for the occasion. .The Rev. Archdeacon Julius was the officiating clergyman. The bride and bridegroom left by motor for the North, the former wearing a pale grey coat-frock and georgette hat to match.
