William Thomas Andrew TREEVE [12901]

   Cause of his death was congestion of the brain.

  General Notes:

William together with his mother and two sisters arrived in Australia on Wednesday October 19 1859
aboard the SS Blackwall.

Shortly after William and Jane were married they made their way to Burketown and then to Sweers Island in the Gulf of Carpentaria, Queensland where the first of four known children were born. He worked as a Mariner Coxswain for H.M. Customs but moved around. William left Jane and the family behind in Normanton sometime between 1880 and 1883 and never returned to the family.

William years later was admitted to the Benevolent Asylum at Dunwich in Brisbane on June 20 1902 where he eventually died.

His Death Certificate Oxley 1903 No. 4084 5146 records him as aged 57 a labourer born in Jersey, he left 3 living children, William, Minnie & Louisa, one male child predeceased him?.

William married Jane NEWTON [12902] [MRIN: 4336], daughter of David NEWTON [13412] and Hannah PHILLIPS [13422], on 29 Aug 1867 in Surry Hills, New South Wales, Australia. (Jane NEWTON [12902] was born on 8 Oct 1849 in Sydney NSW Australia, baptised on 27 Dec 1857 in St Mark Camden Sydney NSW and died on 28 Apr 1928 in Cloncurry QLD.)
