JULIUS - GATAKER . A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated on Saturday, 22nd April, at 'Milden,' Maryborough, the residence of the bride's parents, when Miss Minnie G. E. Gataker, only daughter cf Mr. C. F. Gataker, was married to Mr. Reginald H. Julius (of H.M. Customs, Brisbane), only son of Mr. C. A. Julius, England, and late of Maryborough. The wedding took place in the drawing-room, which was tastefully deoorated with palms, ferns, and chrysanthemums, a wedding bell being suspended over he heads of the bridal pair. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dainty toilet of white voi'e trimmed with silk maltese insertion and tucks, the shirred skirt being finished with five sherried flounces, each edged with insertion, the folded bodice being softly draped over a finely draped vest, this costume being finished off with a handsome collarette of pale cream silk tatting and a white hat of crinoline straw trimmed with soft white silk and ostrich tips. The bridesmaids were the Misses Barns (cousin), Minnie and Maude Gataker (nieces of the bride). The former wore a costume of cream panama cloth with circular yoke and semi vest of paris lace, and trimmed with fluted silk, with hat of navy blue chiffon and silk shirrong, while the tiny nieces made a pretty pair in white merino frocks with pale blue ribbon and white muslin hats. All carried flower bouquets. Tbe ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Snipe in the presence of immediate relatives only, the bridegroom being supported by Mr. James Gataker as best man. After the wedding breakfast Mr. and Mrs. Julius left for Pialba, where the honeymoon will be spent. The presents were numerous and handsome.

Pioneers Daughter Dies in Brisbane
A 90-year-old woman whose family name has been connected with the history and progress of Maryborough and Hervey Bay since early pioneering days died in Brisbane on March 15.
She was Minnie Elizabeth Julius widow of Reginald Hampton Julius and daughter of the late Mr and Mrs CF Gataker of "Milden" Saltwater Creek Road Maryborough. Three brothers, Melmoth and James Gataker of Maryborough and Frank of Brisbane, predeceased her. Another brother Walter is living in Redcliffe. The Gataker family home "Milden" was on a large property which included the present aerodrome site and the avenue of trees marking the entrance drive was planted by Charles Gataker.
Business in Maryborough.
The wholesale business in Kent Street, of which Charles Gataker was one of the founders was well established when the first immigrant ships arrived in the Mary River. The name is even more familiar in Hervey bay where as a surveyor Charles Gataker mapped much of the land in the district, Gataker's Bay was called after him. Mrs Julius spent all her school days in Maryborough and was a student of the Maryborough Girls Grammar School.
Granville School Link.
After her marriage to Reginald Julius who was connected with the Luya Julius carrying business she made her home in Brisbane, but never severed her connection with Maryborough, returning at intervals, up to 12 months ago, to renew old acquaintances. Her husband's father was the headmaster of the Granville state school for many years. Mrs Julius is survived by 3 daughters, Muriel and Barbara (Brisbane), and Margaret (Melbourne).
