Sturgeon Alston of the Parish of St Peter annexed to this Parish, batchelor, and Anne Murrells of this Parish were married by banns 14 Mar 1831. Wit. John Murrells, Peter Alston. From St Gregory's Parish Registers.

On his son William's marriage entry 1878, he is described as a corn merchant.
Sturgeon was admitted only by birth, a Freeman of Sudbury 22 July 1833.
Sturgeon was aged 31 at his death, Ann Alston is recorded as present.
