Rhodes - On the 30th August, at Hadlow, Timaru, the wife of E. Timaru Rhodes, of a son.
RHODES, Timaru. Sheep Farmer of "Hadlow Grange", Hadlow, via Timaru, N.Z. Partner, "Haldon" Station, Fairlie, N.Z. Mem. of Com, South Canterbury A. & P. Assoc. ; Mem, of Com, Canterbury Jockey Club. Born: Hadlow, N.Z., 1887. Son of Ernest Timaru Rhodes of Levels, N.Z., and of Mildred (nee Hackworth) Rhodes. His grandfather, Geo. Rhodes, who with Robt. Heaton Rhodes, arrived in N.Z. from Aust. in 1849, witnessed the arrival of the first four ships from the property "Purau" which he took up with his brothers, W. B. and R. H. Rhodes, under the firm name of W. R. and G. Rhodes. He was also interested in many station properties including "Kaituna" and "Ahuriri", Banks Peninsula, "The Levels", Sth Canterbury, etc. Educated: Christ's Coll., Chch., N.Z., and Cambridge Univ.
