Percival Clay NEILL [22061]

  General Notes:

In 1859 Percival immigrated to Melbourne, Australia and joined the firm of Messrs McCallum, Neill & Co, Melbourne and Geelong.
He moved to New Zealand in 1863 as Resident partner of the above firm.
Joining Messrs James Henty & Co of Melbourne, in 1866, he extended the firms business in NZ., including a large bonded store bought in 1867, one of the city's first substantial buildings.
c1880 he bought out Henty & Co to establish the firm of Messrs Neill & Co, incorporated as a Limited Liability Cojpany in 1882,.

Held the Office of French Consul from 1873.

Percival married Gertrude Emmeline FYANS [22062] [MRIN: 7929], daughter of Capt Foster FYANS [30116] and Elizabeth Alice CAIN [30117], on 27 Apr 1865 in All Saints Geelong Vic. (Gertrude Emmeline FYANS [22062] was born circa 1845 in Victoria Australia, died on 3 Apr 1903 in Dunedin Otago NZ and was buried on 5 Apr 1903 in Northern Cemetery Dunedin NZ.)
