1838 7 Aug. At Westbury-on-Trym in his 80th year, Richard Symes, Esq., formerly of Bristol, son of the late Rev Richard Symes, for 50 yrs the respected Rector of St Werburgh's, after an union of 57 years with his surviving widow Ann daughter of the late Edward Bowles Esq.
