Charles served with the Royal Artillary, he was a contributor to the Bombay Military Pension Fund he joined it in 8 Oct 1846. The record shows he went on furlough to Europe S.C. 17 April 1855 returning to India in 1857. He returned to Europe S.C. 27 Sept 1861 before retiring from the Service 1 Jan 1867

Charles was aged 65 at his death
