Constance VARCOE [2004]

  General Notes:

Mrs. Constance Susan Wakefield, who recently died at Goolwa, was born at Currency Creek in 1854. She was the daughter of Mr. William John Richard Varcoe, of St. Bodmin, Cornwall, who arrived in Australia in the ship Samuel Boddington, in 1840. In 1878 the deceased was married to Mr. Murat Wakefield. and lived for six months in Tasmania, then at Port Elliot for three years, and the rest of her life on the farm at Currency Creek. Mrs. Wakefield left four children -Mr. A. Wakefield. Mesdames G. W. Stewart and J. Woods, of Goolwa, and Mrs. P. Skewes of Adelaide, and two grandchildren Misses Betty Woods and Nina Stewart).

Constance married Murat WAKEFIELD [1924] [MRIN: 648], son of Felix WAKEFIELD [1665] and Marie Felice Eliza BAILLE [1923], on 21 Nov 1878 in Holy Evangelists Goolwa SA. (Murat WAKEFIELD [1924] was born on 2 Aug 1834 in London and died on 5 May 1906 in Goolwa South Australia.)
