Cecil Andrew Plaxton 1902-1993 the eldest son of JW and Mary Stone. In contrast to his father, Cecil had an easier start in life, being privately educated at Magdalen College School in Oxford and then St Edmund Hall. He followed his father into the church, training at Cuddesdon before being ordained in 1927. In 1929 he married Eleanor Joan Sowerby (1902-1989) in 1929, the daughter of Arthur Litchfield Sowerby of Salisbury. He did his curacy in St Martin's Salisbury, and was vicar of Weymouth, Pewsey and Devizes. He was Archdeacon of Wiltshire from 1951-1974.
He wrote a small book in 1971: Treasure of Salisbury: Life and Death of Saint Edmund of Abingdon.
