In the name of god Amen the 30th day of Septembre in the yeare
of our lord god 1558 I Rob(er)t Rushe of Tannyngton in the
Countye of Suff. Being in p(er)fyte mynd and good Remembraunce
make thys my last Wyll and testament in maner and forme
followyng Fyrst I bequeath my soule to Allmyghty god and to all
the blessed Companye in heaven and my body to be buried w(i)t(h)in
the Churchyerde of Tannyngton It(e)m I Wyll that myne executors
shall brynge me honestly to the ground as they shall thynke most mete
It(e)m I Wyll that margaret my wife shall have my ten(emen)t called
gardners wyth all the lond(es) ther unto belongyng duryng her
lyfe It(e)m I Wyll that dorothe my doughter shall have £14 of good
and lawfull monye of Englond to be payd unto her in 7
years after the decease of me the forsayd Rob(er)t and margaret
my wife by the hand(es) of myne executor(es) or assygnes that is
to saye 40s a yeare untyll the whole sum(e) of £14 be fully
Contented and payd out. But if it shall happen that the forsayd
dorothe my doughter depart the world w(i)t(h)out issu of her body or
*unmaried* before the forsayd sum(e) of £14 be payed out then I wyll the
Resydue unpayd <then I wyll it> shall Remayne to my 2 Sonnes by
even porcyon but if it shall happen the forsayd dorothe depart
havyng issu then I wyll it shalle evenly devided among
them. It(e)m I geve to 6 of my bellchyldren being Edward Rushes
chyldren Each of them 20d to be payd at the age of 20 years
and if it shall happen that any of them depart the world before
the aforsayd age then I wyll ther p(ar)te or p(ar)tes shalbe devided
among the other lyvynge It(e)m I geve unto 4 of Rob(er)t pages
Chylren being my bellchyldren that is to saye John 20s
To Rob(er)t 6s 8d to alyce 20d to Ealsabeth 20d and if it shall
happen that any of them dep(ar)te the world before the age of 20
years that then there p(ar)t or p(ar)tes shalbe devided among the other being
a lyve. It(e)m I geve to 3 of John Rushes Chyldren 20d a pece to
be payed at the age of 20 yeares and if any of them dep(ar)t the
world before the age above named then I wyll ther p(ar)t or p(ar)tes
shall Remayne unto the other lyvyng. It(e)m I geve to 2 of Rob(er)t Rushes
Chyldren 20d a pece to be payd at the age of 20 yeares also and if
any of them dep(ar)te the world before the forsayd age then I wyll
ther p(ar)ts to remayne to the resydue then lyving. It(e)m I geve to
margarett my wyfe all my movabelgoodes unbequeathed or ungeven
to dyspose them as she shall thynke it most mete It(e)m I wyll the
suerpluse of such sum(e) of mony as my 2 Sonnes *?* John and
Rob(er)t stand bound to me and to myne executors in an
oblygacion for such covenaunt(es) as is specyfyed in a payer of
indentour(es) to the behope of thys my last wyll so as the legesys of
thys my last wylle fulfylled and myne executor(es) dyscharged then I wyll
it such sum(e) of mony shalbe evenly devided among my thre
