OBITUARY
DOUGLAS ANDREW DONALDSON
The very largely attended funeral and crowded church service in Temora on Friday was evidence of the high regard in which the late Mr Douglas Andrew Donaldson, 58, was held.
His death occurred at Wagga on Thursday morning after a long and painful illness extending over several years.
A native of Temora he was the second son of the late Mr. Andrew Donaldson, Sproules Lagoon, and of Mrs. E. Donaldson, of Kiama. On completing his education in Temora he followed farming and grazing pursuits, being active in this until ill health forced his retirement, to a new home he built in Polaris Street.
His happy, cheerful disposition endeared him to all whose pleasure it was to know him and who admired the great courage he displayed throughout his illness.
Reference to this was made by Rev. F. Dau, who, with Rev. J. French, officiated at the service in St. Paul's Church of England on Friday afternoon. In addition to his sorrowing wife, Jean, he leaves two daughters, Jeanette (Mrs. John Sellwood, of New Zealand) and Elizabeth (Mrs. John Kessey, of Bathurst).
One brother, Frank, predeceased him but he is survived by two brothers, Fergus (West Wyalong) and Bert (Temora) and three sisters, Edie and Grace, of Kiama and Ruth (Mrs. M Winley, of Toukley).
The pall-bearers, were Messrs R. Brooks, H Mc Master, A Sanderson, G Preston Andrew Donaldson and John Preston while the Flower tray was carried by Keith Donaldson and Arthur Preston.
Mr William Murray directed arrangements.
