DESCENDANTS of Edward Gibbon Wakefield are still interested In South Australia. His Brother Felix, who was principal superintendent of the Army Works Corps in the Crimea, died at Sumner, New Zealand in 1875. One of Felix's six sons was Salvator Rosa Wakefield, who was associated with Elder, Smith & Co. in Adelaide and lived at Aldgate (Incidentally he had a brother, Murat). S. R. Wakefleld married first Miss Cox, of Adelaide and they had a son Edward Gibbon and daughter Constance; he married secondly Miss Fanny Fenn, and they had a son Charles William Wakefield, of Morphett Vale, and daughter Alice Josephine. These facts can be found in The Royal Lineage of our Noble and Gentle Families, together with their Paternal Ancestry, by Joseph Foster (1887) in the Public Library.
