  Research Notes:

Julius Erdmann Becker in several documents states he was born in England, although in the first record found in England, the 1861 Census, he states he was born in Prussia. I believe he was born in Prussia as was his mother. He adopted an English name for his mother, ie Buckley, and his place of birth as a part of developing a new identity after he fled England before he was imprisoned in the debtors prison.
